Week of February 13th

Starting point 

So a few weeks ago, I painted these daisies. I was frustrated with the results and so I searched through my collection of art books to help guide me and figure out what was going wrong. Turns out instead of using different colors to create shading or depth (such as above), I could use the same color in varying shades (see below).

Prep Work

Before I was ready to paint, I needed to prepare each color with light values ranging from 1-10.   I used six different colors for this week's piece.

Still working from the same book as last week, I proceeded to work on a different exercise. In the same concept of painting, using light values to create balance and harmony.

        ~What a difference~ 

You can see quite a difference between the daisies above and the rose to the left. I have a lot further to go, but this is definitely progress!
